They will not teach a learner the explicit (easily taught and learned) and tacit knowledge (experiences that are not easy to explain) required to be a competent stitcher.&lt;/p&gt;


This is not to discourage learners as you will certainly learn from experience but it may be a costly and time consuming process. I firmly recommend taking sewing lessons:

	&lt;li&gt;at your school or through a community college&lt;/li&gt;
		&lt;li&gt;from a friend or relative.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;/ul&gt;
