Level of skill required

While these designs are very easy to sew the patterns and instructions assume that you already know how to sew. They will not teach a learner the explicit (easily taught and learned) and tacit knowledge (experiences that are not easy to explain) required to be a competent stitcher.

This is not to discourage learners as you will certainly learn from experience but it may be a costly and time consuming process. I firmly recommend taking sewing lessons:
  • at your school or through a community college
  • from a friend or relative.
